My Rating

Pros

  • No Start-Up Fee
  • No Hidden Fees
  • Jobs Are Short and Easy To Complete
  • Can Be Done on Your Own Time

Cons

  • Low Potential Earnings
  • Not Time Effective
  • Work Can Be Scarce
  • Jobs are Often Repetitive

Work for yourselfClickworker is an online workforce for hire that offers people the opportunity to complete micro-tasks to earn money.

It’s free to join, and there are no fees for opening your account, or working through the program.

Unfortunately, the small payouts, lack of job availability, and poor user experience makes Clickworker a waste of your time.

And although you can earn money through Clickworker, your time would be far better spent working for yourself, instead of someone else.

What is a “Micro-Job”?

A micro-job is a short, simple task that can usually be done with no experience or education. These tasks are simplistic in nature, and can often require repetitive actions, such as typing/translating text, entering data, or proofreading .

Micro-jobs are designed to be short, but also won’t pay much money. The idea is that you can complete many micro-tasks in the same time it would take to complete a regular work task (hence the small payouts).

There are 6 different categories of Micro-tasks available at Clickworker:

Creation of texts, Data categorization, Copy Editing

Proofreading, Web research, Surveys

Depending on your given skill-set (i.e. language, writing, research, etc.), you’ll be recommended jobs that are the most compatible to you.

What is Clickworker? An Online Freelance Workforce

Clickworker is an online workforce available to hire. By joining this workforce, you’ll gain access to an array of online job opportunities.

Clickworker marketplace

As mentioned before, these jobs are micro-jobs, and can be completed very quickly. The downside, is that you don’t earn much money from each job.

The payouts for each job vary depending on a number of factors, including:

  • Time it takes to complete
  • Difficulty
  • Research/other work required
  • Urgency

The average payouts are less than $1, and often only several cents. However, sometimes it only takes 5 minutes to complete a job, so your earnings can add up quite quickly.

With my overall knowledge of micro-jobs, I was skeptical about joining Clickworker, but proceeded anyway.

My First-Hand Experience – The Unfortunate Truth

Intrigued (as always) by another method claiming you can earn money online, I signed up for Clickworker to see what all the hype was about.

After completing my account set-up and English assessment, I began to search for some work to start earning as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, I was surprised to find only one job available.

Peanut labs survey

After completing the available surveys through Peanut Labs, I had made only a few cents. Not even a full dollar.

I decided to come back to it the next day, but still only the surveys were available to me.

3 days later, I had only made $1.20.

Clickworker balance

This is where I quickly started to realize the limitations of micro-tasks, and the work that’s offered at Clickworker.

Is Clickworker a Scam? Or Just a Waste of Your Time?

After doing some research on other user reviews, I found mixed opinions about Clickworker.

Some say they earn about $6/hour while working on Clickworker, others have similar experiences to mine and have made nothing.

So is Clickworker a scam? In my opinion it’s not, but it also isn’t a great use of your time.

You won’t make anything at the start. You’ll have to complete assessments, and increase your work skill-set to be eligible for many of the jobs at Clickworker.

And even if you do find a surplus of work to be done, you’ll still only earn a few dollars an hour.

Alternative Was to Earn Money Online – My #1 Recommendation

WA worldwide members

To be honest, the truth to earning money online is that you can’t expect to make much by doing these micro-jobs, or completing miscellaneous tasks for people.

If you want to earn a substantial income from your efforts online, you need to work for yourself, and not someone else.

This is not as hard as it may seem, and actually hundreds of thousands of people are starting their very own businesses online every year.

There is an industry changing affiliate marketing training course available for free that has helped change not only my life, but hundreds of thousands of others as well.

The training walks you through the process step by step for creating your own successful business online.

Unlike many other programs that make you pay for their service, then leave you hanging out to dry, this program teaches you everything you need to know and provides 24/7 professional, and community support.

Work for yourself, not someone else. And do it all for free!

Final Thoughts

All in all, Clickworker in my opinion is not a scam. However, it’s also probably not the best use of your time.

Your time is precious and nonrenewable, so don’t waste it away for a few bucks an hour.

Also don’t waste any more time searching for legitimate ways to earn money online, check out my #1 recommendation above to get started on the right foot just like hundreds of thousands of others.

Your success is important to me!

If you happen to have a conflicting review about Clickworker, please let me know. I’d be very intrigued to know how you managed to earn any money through the program.

If you enjoyed this review, share it with your friends using the social media icons.

Don’t hesitate to ask if you have any further questions or concerns!

All the best,

Isaya

Clickworker.com appears legitimate but it could not be relied on an an income. For the amount of time spent, one would rather do something more productive than clickworker. I sometimes get drawn to try these things out of curioriy, but thanks for checking it out.

    1. Isaya says:

      Hey Luigi,

I had heard from some people that Clickworker is a good way to earn some extra cash on the side. However, after signing up and spending several hours on the program, I hadn’t even made $2.

It’s definitely not worth the trouble!

Thank’s for the warning, at least I understand it as a warning. To claim to help people make money and then leaving them with $1.20 after three days seems a bit odd.
I know how to waste my time better and even have fun doing that. $1.20 is not even enough to pay for my internet connection lol.
    Good work, let us know.

    1. Isaya says:

      Hey Stefan,

You’re right, this amount of money I earned through this program is hardly even worth the cost of the internet connection needed to complete the work in the first place.

As someone who has tried so many of these “online make money” things, this was a super great read and I’m glad I know not to use that site, it might not be scam but it is certainly a waste of time!

      Hey Brooke,

Thanks for your support! I’m glad I could save you some time and avoid signing up!
You’d be more productive elsewhere, the payouts are far too small and few in between.

I never heard of clickworker before your post and have always wanted to make money online. I’m happy to hear that it is best to start my own business with WA. I really appreciate your insight.

    1. Isaya says:

      Hey Tammye,

Building your own business online isn’t as hard as you may think. And if you are interested in actually earning anything substantial online, then it’s definitely the way to go!

  5. Alex says:

Wow, this sounds atrocious, even research departments at my University offer more compensation for your time than that. You are better off there or finding work off Craigslist. While it is not a scam, there are better ways to utilize your time. In your review, I especially enjoyed that you went through their program. You got a look at the inside of it that way. There are people who were probably considering it, but now have decided to change their minds.

If you were to recommend a similar program to Clickworker, what would you encourage? Are there ways to make money online in a related fashion? I want to make money in a manner like Clickworker, but obviously a lot more.

Thank you for your review and I hope you have a wonderful day!

      Hey Alex!

I’m glad you found this article so useful. If you are in fact looking for some ways to earn a few bucks in a similar way to clickworker, I would suggest UserTesting.com. They pay for you to test the functionality of a business’ website. It takes longer than the work at Clickworker, but you get paid $10 per review! MUCH better than a few cents.

The only thing, is that the work is sporadic. So you may only be able to perform 1 or 2 tests every week, depending on what becomes available. But it is definitely worth checking out!

I hope this helps! All the best to you!

Hi is good to know that Clickworker isn’t scam but is also good to know that it is just wasting time for those who wanna make real money online. appreciate your work. thanks a lot

    1. Isaya says:

      hey Tibor,

You’re more than welcome! I hope I could save you some of your precious time.

  7. Misty says:

Hello and thank you for the informative article. I can definitely vouch against Clickworker as I have tried this in the past. I, too, was merely offered several surveys which ALWAYS seem to be such a waste of time for mere cents on the dollar.

I also clicked on your link above regarding your alternative ways to make money. I have to say that you nailed this on the head! As a current member in this awesome community of Wealthy Affiliate, I have to say that if anyone reading this is questioning their ability to do something that seems so dramatic and intense (creating a website and making money via affiliate marketing), trust me… you can do it! And… while it does take effort, you have the capability to be exponentially rewarded via real money!

Thanks again for your post. I just came across it and since I had experience with both decided to chime in! ((:

    1. Isaya says:

      Hey Misty,

Thanks for taking the time to leave your own feedback. I’m glad to hear that I wasn’t the only one who had a poor experience with Clickworker. I don’t know if anyone has had better luck or not, but it’s certainly not easy!

I agree, Wealthy Affiliate is truly an amazing program to build your very own business and earn substantial, legitimate money. And the fact that it’s free, with no obligations to pay for anything is a true testament to their goal to help others succeed.
