What is Linktree? | Centralize Your Social Media Accounts

Connect your followers with one linkBy centralizing your URLs into a single link, Linktree makes it easy for your online traffic to access any social media account, website, article, or event.

Although primarily designed for Instagram and Facebook, it can be integrated into any social media platform or website.

Linktree is essential for connecting your social followers, and making your content easily accessible in a professional way.

And the best part is, it’s completely free!

Why is Linktree Beneficial to Me or My Business?

Having more than one social media account is a must if you’re a business owner, or even if you’re just promoting yourself, or a personal blog/website.

Not everyone uses the same social media platform, so having a presence (no matter how large or small) on multiple platforms is ideal for optimizing your reach.

The only problem is, many of these platforms only allow you to attach one URL to your profile, which can create problems if you have more than one link (i.e. website, YouTube channel, Facebook page, etc.).

Linktree centralizes these links onto a personal page that highlights the URLs that you’d like to share in a customized, and professional way.

Linktree example page

This is just a quick example of my Linktree page for a hobby website of mine. As you can see, it easily displays the links that I want to share with my followers.

All you have to do is post your Linktree link to your social media account of choice, and your visitors will be able to access any and all links you want to share.

No longer will you have to change your social media profile, or lose website traffic because you want to share a new YouTube channel, or Facebook Page.

Linktree makes growing your social reach easy!

How to Get Started – “Grow” Your Own Linktree

All you have to do to get started is visit Linktr.ee, and click on “sign up”.

Once you have created your account, you’ll be brought to your admin page where you’ll manage your links, and customize your Linktree page.

Click on “Add New Button/Link” to add your first link.

Copy and paste your desired link into the “URL” section, and add a title for your Link button.

Get started with Linktree

You’ll notice to the right, a small orange exclamation point. This is just to let you know that your link has not yet been activated to your Linktree page.

Once you have inserted your link, and added a title, just flip the “toggle” next to the exclamation point to activate it.

After activating your link, the toggle will turn green and the exclamation point will disappear.

Linktree analytics

Underneath the activation toggle, you’ll also notice 3 small icons.

1. Timer Icon

This icon is unfortunately for pro members only, but it allows you to have your link automatically activate and deactivate at specific times.

This is great if you, for example, host a live show and want to give your audience access to it at a specific time when the show is live.

2. Chart Icon

This is your insights/analytics icon, that allows you to view the total clicks to each link on your Linktree page.

A full, daily breakdown of your analytics are available if you purchase the pro version. But you can easily avoid this payment by just using Google’s analytics tool instead.

3. Trash Bin Icon

Just like usual, the trash bin icon represents the delete function, which permanently deletes your link.

Don’t worry though, re-adding the link is easy if you ever change your mind after deleting something.

Customize Your Linktree Page Design – Enhance User Experience

The last step to completing your Linktree page, is to choose a design for your Linktree page.

Visit the “Settings” at the top of the page, then choose the colour scheme that best represents your brand, or business.

Linktree themes

The pro version of Linktree offers a larger selection of colour schemes, as well as the option to customize your own.

However, there’s no need to upgrade to the pro version if you don’t need to. The free version offers more than enough options for you to choose from.

The Final Step – Adding Your Linktree URL to Your Social Media Platforms

There you have it! Insert any and all links you’d like to make public, then click on the “copy” button at the top right of your screen.Copy Linktree Link

Now just paste your new Linktree URL into the URL field in your social media profile.

Make sure to test your links once everything is complete, just to make sure your visitors aren’t being brought to an error/404 page.

Add linktree to social media

It’s that simple! Manage your links, and all your link options within your Linktree admin page.

I recommend creating a bookmark of the page for easy access to your link management settings.

Also, don’t clutter your Linktree page with links. Keep it simple and relevant!

Linktree Pro – Is it Worth it?

In my opinion, the pro version of Linktree is not worth it unless you’re generating revenue online.

The basic features of the free version are more than enough, and you should definitely try it out before upgrading to pro.

However, if your business or website is already generating substantial traffic, and you need that extra boost to further enhance your Linktree page, then by all means, do it!

Linktree pro features

For $6/month, your business would benefit from the pro version.

The added features are pretty self-explanatory, so I won’t go into too much detail about them.

Suffice it to say that the pro version is definitely worth it if your business or website is already generating revenue, if not, I’d suggest holding off for now.

Final Thoughts – Why I Love Linktree

If you haven’t already signed up for Linktree, you’re missing out!

By combining all of your URLs into one, specially designed URL hub, you’ll give your followers easy access to any and all links you’d like to share.

No more will you have to change or add links to your social media sites, Linktree makes managing them easy.

I don’t recommend the pro version, unless you require specific customization options, or detailed analytics. The free version is more than enough to get the job done.

If you have an opinion on Linktree, positive or negative, I’d love to hear what you have to say.

I hope you found this article helpful. If so, be sure to spread the word!

All the best,

Isaya
